*UNISON INVOCATION Pastor Drutchas & Congregation
Gracious God, we give thanks for your presence among us as we gather to worship
this evening. We thank you for providing us over time with so much spiritual
guidance: the words of scripture, the ways of Jesus, the tradition of the church, the
witness of faithful men and women through the ages, and the promptings of the
Holy Spirit. We confess that we have taken so many of these blessings for granted
and have been slothful, even cowardly, in applying to our daily living what you
have already shared with us. Forgive us our shortcomings. Help us in this hour
of worship to set aside sloth and selfishness and whatever other impediments get in
the way of being grateful to you and faithful to the loving, righteous example of
Jesus Christ. Amen.
