God of love and mercy, we are so often afraid. You call us to greatness and we
protest that we are weak. You show us your ways, and we complain that they
are too hard. You promise to protect us, and we do not trust your word. As we
worship you this morning, forgive our weakness, and our lack of faith. Then
empower us to do your work, and to live as you would have us live. Amen.
